Who is duela dent
As Harlequin, Duela utilized gimmicks such as smoke-inducing powder puffs and bullet-firing lipstick. Duela's last pre-Crisis appearance is in Tales of The Teen Titans 50, as a guest at Donna Troy 's wedding where she appears to be a middle age matron.
Dick Grayson notes that he'd finally realized she was too old to be Two-Face's daughter, which she agrees with, but disappears before he can take the matter further. Delusional and schizophrenic, the mysterious Harlequin has been in and out of mental institutions for several years. An acrobat who possesses numerous "clown-motif" gadgets, she calls herself Duela Dent while her true identity remains unknown.
Her first significant Post-Crisis appearance was in the Team Titans comic book, as a patient in a mental hospital. The writers of the title originally planned to reveal that Harlequin was a time-traveling member of the Team Titans driven insane by her warping experience.
However, due to the cancellation of the series, plans for her to return were aborted. The final issue of Team Titans solicited a non-existent story for Team Titans 25, and provided a commentary on the title's cancellation. In the solicitation, Duela steals a reality-altering device and shifts New York City into the late s. This means she is Joker's daughter, just not the mainstream one. She is also the step daughter of the Earth-3 Riddler. It is unknown however how and when she came to the main continuity's universe.
Harlequin aided the Titans during the "Technis Imperative," in which Cyborg 's automated system seeks out all Titans allies, past and present. Although she is in a mental institution, Duela is rescued by Cyborg and helps the Justice League for Cyborg's soul.
Duela makes a brief appearance in Titans Secret Files 1, insisting to anyone who would listen that the Titans would soon contact her about membership. She also claims that she is the daughter of Doomsday. How she met up with the dangerous villains with whom she crashed the party is unexplained. In the same comic, a feature states that her claims regarding her paternity have been disproved, save one; no further information is provided.
Duela returned to action alongside the assembled Titans who faced Dr. Light in Teen Titans vol. She later appeared in a double-page spread that was added in the Infinite Crisis hardcover collected edition.
After cutting her face, Duela received plastic surgery, but during the procedure she twitched too much under the surgeon's scalpel, further damaging her face. Eventually, she ran away from home to the Gotham City's Nethers, an underground cave system populated by escapees from Arkham Asylum , with Cat, her new pet.
She freed the women of the Nethers from their cruel subjugation from that area's men. She was on hand at the Crime Syndicate 's meeting in Forever Evil 1. In Pre-Crisis continuity, Duela Dent used outrageous gimmicky weapons, including a pipe that blew explosive or sticky bubbles.
She also had a lipstick tube that shot bullets and a giant powder puff that stunned and confused enemies. In Post-Crisis continuity, Harlequin seems to have a degree of agility and fighting skills, as well as being psychotic.
In the alternate timeline of the Bombshells, Duela Dent is a Nazi advisor on matters magical, having worked up some expertise with subduing and nullifying the powers of magicians.
She runs a cabaret entertainment venue, where she has forced both Zatanna and Raven to perform for her own amusement and that of Nazi soldiers. Her goal is to force her captives into accepting their place as her servants using both intimidation and false love.
Zatanna resisted for too long and was banished into the Jewish Ghetto to act as a trojan horse as the Jokers Daughter disguised herself as Raven in order to be lead to the others. Raven in the meantime had also resisted Duela for too long and before the capture of Zatanna been placed into a deep sleep along with attempting to brainwash her into doing Duela's bidding.

Character Evolution Duela Dent first appeared baffling and confounding Robin. Major Story Arcs Pre-Crisis Joker's Daughter Duela was able to determine Robin's real identity, Dick Grayson, and used this knowledge to get his help in joining the Teen Titans , a team of teenage superheroes in which Robin was a member.
After further scarring her face when her parents forced her to have plastic surgery to correct the damage she'd inflicted on herself, Duela ran away from home and lived in the sewers of Gotham City. It was here that she found the severed face of The Joker, who had removed his own face as part of a scheme. Wearing the rotting flesh as a mask, Duela became obsessed with the idea of proving herself a worthy heir to the legacy of The Joker, who was presumed dead at the time.
She met The Dollmaker , the villainous surgeon who had removed The Joker's face at his request, and he gladly sewed the Joker's face into Duela's flesh and injected her with a blood sample he had taken from The Joker.
Duela launched her own crime-spree and joined with several other villains over the course of the Batman Eternal mini-series, attempting a magical ritual to resurrect The Joker at one point and doing battle with Batgirl. She was recruited into the Suicide Squad after being captured, much to Harley Quinn's dismay. Unsurprisingly, Duela was determined to be too much of a loose cannon to be trusted as a field agent and she was sent back to Arkham Asylum.
She has not been seen since. No version of The Joker's Daughter has ever been depicted as having superpowers, though they've all proven to be quite dangerous without them. Duela Dent was a brilliant engineer and detective, capable of building all manner of clown-themed crime-fighting gadgetry and smart enough to figure out Robin was Dick Grayson unaided. She was also a talented acrobat and physical combatant, holding her own with Robin in a one-on-one fight.
The New 52 version of the Joker's Daughter showed no special skills apart from being unusually good with bladed weapons. The Arrowverse's version of Duela Dent doesn't use the Joker's Daughter name, but she is clearly inspired by the New 52 version of the character. Part of a wealthy family in Gotham City , Duela was pushed by her mother, Evelyn, to emulate her fashion-obsessed classmates. One day Duela snapped while putting on make-up and punched her mirror, using the broken shards to cut a smile onto her face in a mockery of how plastic surgeons cut other women's faces open to make them pretty.
Forced to undergo plastic surgery before being committed to Arkham Asylum for a time, Duela became determined to "free" her classmates from the unrealistic expectations of beauty society forced on them. This led Duela to attack the social media influencers her mother admired, cutting apart their faces with a knife while leaving their bodies unharmed. She also attacked her mother and slit her throat to stop Batwoman from chasing after her.
However, before the police got to her, Duela was found by Alice , who had discovered that Duela had tried suing her plastic surgeon for working on her against her will.
Since Alice had a grudge against the same surgeon he was the man who held her captive for over half her life Alice proposed a way that she and Duela could help one another.
