Buffy where is sunnydale
Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade, in particular, stood in as the main street of Sunnydale in several episodes. By Season 3, though, a "Main Street" set was constructed on the show's backlot.
The shots outside and inside of Crawford Street mansion - Angel's home - were filmed at the Ennis-Brown house - designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright - which is located at Glendower Avenue in Griffith Park.
In two episodes - the second season's fourth episode "Inca Mummy Girl" and the sixth season's ninth episode "Smashed" - Buffy finds herself at the Sunnydale Natural History Museum. Another two episodes—the first season's sixth episode, "The Pack," and fifth season's eighth episode, "Shadow"—takes place at the Sunnydale Zoo. The recreation center is featured in five episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Scenes that take place at the initiative facilities, featured in the fourth season's seventh and 21st episodes, "The Initiative " and "Primeval," were filmed at Skunk Works, a facility that builds aircraft designs, in Palmdale, California.
Of course, there are many other locations that episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer were filmed at, including theme parks, churches, salons, parks, trains stations, deserts, ports, malls, streets, houses, and apartment complexes across Southern California. The interior of the school became more modern when it was rebuilt and the site of the old library was converted into the principal's office so that the area could be controlled by Robin Wood, the principal at the time, who in addition was a vampire slayer. In the process of creating a series, many changes and adaptations occur until the final result is achieved, which is what the fans remember.
Later, the creators of the TV show changed it to Sunnydale High School, possibly hoping that the spectators would remember in a simple way one of the most emblematic places of the city and of the series. The school had a swimming pool which was used by the swimming team. In the changing room, the students who practiced this sport had access to the steam room.
In this service room, there was a well with students turned into fish, due to steroids that were provided by Professor Marin. Through this well, and the sewers it was connected to, monsters could roam around the city and the school. The school was always surrounded by supernatural events, which many people ignored or underestimated. For example, Principal Snyder blamed gangs, as mysterious deaths always occurred.

I was just thinking about this the other day. In 'Grave', we can see the ocean from the hill that Willow is standing on while she tries to end the world.
But in 'Chosen', we can see that Sunnydale is in the middle of a desert. Also, the nearby forests and hills are gone. But it seems gigantic in other episodes, and even has its own UC University in town. So just how big is Sunnydale, and just where is it?
Its supposed to be in California I want to live in Sunnydale! Wasn't it Santa Barbara? And yes, the surrounding changed every time for plot reasons. Chosen Enemy Losing my soul. Joined Aug 11, Messages 3, Age Well, there's a town named Sunnyvale, which seems to be located pretty much where Sunnydale is supposed to be. And that's somewhere between LA and San Francisco. Which makes sense for Buffy's Sunnydale to be. But don't count on the different sights on the show.
On one hand, there's an ocean. On the other hand, dessert with no water source around to be seen. Plot holes. Including the major city elements that you can find in a small town such as Sunnydale. It's all a plot device. S Sweet J [No message].
